Infographic | Military attacks on Lumad community schools in Mindanao
June 25, 2015
Here is an alarming statistic: About 3,000 Lumad children have been denied of their right to education because of the Aquino administration’s counter-insurgency military offensives in Mindanao. And in the center of it all–along with the various units of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, of course–is the Department of Education itself, with its Davao del Norte division leading the shut down of Lumad community schools. Here are the other alarming facts and figures on the extent of military attacks on Lumad community schools in Mindanao. The infographic was prepared by the Save Our Schools Network, which campaigns against militarization of schools across the country.
